Sound is produced by vibrations and travels in waves. Sound waves need a medium to travel through. For example a solid, a liquid or a gas.
Pitch:
Pitch refers to how high or low a sound is.
Music:
Music is a sound that produces a pleasing sensation.
Noise:
Noise is an unwanted and unpleasant sound produced by horns of vehicles, by machines etc.
Following are the three kinds of noise pollution:
• Transport Noise
• Neighbour-hood Noise
• Industrial Noise
Ways to reduce noise pollution are:
• Installing noise-reducing insulation like glass wool
• Planting more trees
• Using earplugs instead of speakers.
Sound waves need a medium to travel through but there is no medium in vacuum. That’s why sound cannot travel in vacuum.
